Job Description:
We are looking for a highly skilled Staff Data Scientist to join our team. As a member of the Search Optimization team, you will play a crucial role in optimizing our search product experience for guests from search to booking. This is a vital aspect of our business growth and our commitment to providing a high-quality user experience. You will work closely with leaders across the company to accelerate the growth of both Stays and Airbnb Experiences businesses.
Key Responsibilities:
– Developing data products and inference frameworks to optimize the Guest Experience and drive marketplace growth
– Building models to understand guest preferences and their responses to personalized merchandising and search results
– Providing data and insights to improve the guest booking process
– Collaborating with Product and Engineering leaders to test and validate the impact of product and recommendation strategies
– Utilizing advanced causal inference techniques to quantify the impact of product and recommendation strategies on the customer journey
– Actively engaging with stakeholders to understand their business objectives and providing data-driven solutions tailored to their goals
Requirements:
– 9+ years of relevant industry experience and a Master’s degree or PhD in a quantitative field
– Strong proficiency in Python or R for hands-on IC work and SQL for advanced data analysis
– Experience with causal inference and machine learning techniques, preferably in a product or user-facing setting
– Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional stakeholders and independently
– Excellent communication skills for varying technical levels
Location:
This is a US-Remote Eligible position, with the possibility of occasional work at an Airbnb office or attendance at offsites. Compensation:
The base pay for this position may vary depending on factors such as training, transferable skills, work experience, and market demand. It may also be eligible for bonuses, equity, benefits, and Employee Travel Credits.
Salary:
$192,000 – $243,000 USD per yearApply link
