Position: Lead Data Scientist at Apollo

About the Team:
We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Data Scientist to join our best-in-class Data practice. In this role, you will collaborate with our Product, Finance, Growth, and Go-to-Market teams to drive strategic business decisions.
Responsibilities:
– Utilize deep expertise in data analysis, modeling, visualization, and prediction to optimize business outcomes
– Provide technical leadership and problem-solving skills to drive trade-offs and solve complex problems
– Effectively manage projects, requirements, and ensure ethical data practices
– Collaborate with executive and cross-functional teams to identify opportunities and implement data-driven models
– Present findings and communicate complex insights to non-technical audiences
Minimum Requirements:
– 10+ years of experience in data science and quantitative modeling
– Proficiency in SQL and a computing language such as Python or R
– Strong knowledge and hands-on experience in machine learning, statistics, optimization, product analytics, causal inference, and/or experimentation
– Demonstrated experience in leading organization-wide initiatives and collaborating with multiple teams and stakeholders
– Excellent communication skills with the ability to drive impact and influence business outcomes
– A builder’s mindset with a willingness to challenge assumptions and conventional wisdom
– Willingness to participate in on-call rotation
Preferred Qualifications:
– Experience in designing and analyzing complex experiments or leveraging causal inference designs
– Experience in Growth, specifically in attribution, channel performance optimization, CAC optimization, and experimentation
– Familiarity with distributed tools such as Spark and Hadoop
– PhD or MS in a quantitative field (Statistics, Engineering, Mathematics, Economics, Quantitative Finance, Sciences, or Operations Research)
– Experience in developing and deploying metric frameworks
Location:
This is a remote position that can be done from anywhere in the US or Canada with occasional travel required.
