Job Description:
As a Senior Staff Product Designer for Gusto’s Business Insurance team, you will play a vital role in establishing our new product line. Working closely with the cross-functional leadership team, you will lead the entire product development process, from setting the long-term vision and roadmap to launching new features and improving existing ones.
Team Overview:
Gusto’s Product Design team consists of over 60 creative and collaborative individuals who are passionate about our mission to empower small businesses and their employees. We are a cross-functional team that includes Design, Research, Writing, Ops, and Front-end Development. We work closely with our partners in Product, Engineering, Data, and Marketing to design and ship experiences that make a difference. Responsibilities:
– Collaborate with the leadership team to define a long-term UX vision for the product area and align it with Gusto’s overall vision.
– Co-lead the product strategy, roadmap, team OKRs, and project direction.
– Work with cross-functional partners in UX Research, Data Science, Legal, Compliance, Partnerships, and Customer Support to understand customer needs and identify opportunities for improvement.
– Ship new and iterative projects that provide consistent value to our customers.
– Contribute to Gusto’s product design leadership community by sharing your skills and experience.
– Advocate for our design system and platform standards and help evolve them through your team’s work.
Qualifications:
– Minimum of 8 years of experience in software product design, preferably in B2B SaaS. Bonus points if you have led the initial launch of a new product offering.
– Proven track record as an individual contributor design leader at the product or group level, with a builder mindset.
– Comfortable working with complexity and leading the design of approachable products in complex or highly regulated domains.
– Strong product acumen and experience contributing to business and product strategy.
– High-quality standards and a focus on maintaining design quality and accessibility across screen sizes while delivering customer value iteratively.

The salary range for this role is $174,000/yr to $235,000/yr in Denver and most remote locations, and $204,000/yr to $254,000/yr in San Francisco, Seattle, and New York. Final offers will be determined based on a combination of candidate experience and expertise.
Gusto has physical office spaces in Denver, San Francisco, and New York City. Employees based in these locations will be expected to work from the office approximately 2-3 days per week (or more, depending on the role). The same office expectations apply to all Symmetry roles, Gusto’s subsidiary, whose physical office is in Scottsdale.
Note: Office expectations for San Francisco encompass both the San Francisco and San Jose metro areas.
