Job Description:

We are seeking a highly motivated and forward-thinking Associate Data Platform Engineer to join our team at Kin. The Data Platform team is responsible for building and maintaining the data infrastructure that enables our engineering, AI, data science, analytics, and application engineering teams to use and understand data. The successful candidate will have a strong problem-solving ability and be comfortable working in an agile development environment, with the ability to adapt quickly to changing requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

– Develop and execute infrastructure solutions to accommodate growing data volumes and user demands
– Use Terraform to create, update, and maintain AWS infrastructure as code
– Manage infrastructure for Kafka clusters to ensure high availability and performance
– Work with Fivetran to focus on secure configuration and access management
– Oversee Databricks workspaces and clusters, managing resource allocation and access controls
– Identify and resolve infrastructure-related bottlenecks
– Implement and maintain monitoring and alerting systems

Qualifications:

– Strong communication and collaboration skills
– Ability to effectively collaborate with team members, stakeholders, and data scientists to understand requirements and provide solutions
– Willingness to learn and use new technologies
– Experience working in a product definition, requirements, and design phases
– Familiarity with Python and SQL
– Knowledge of AWS and its core components (S3, EC2, IAM, and VPCs) desired
– Willingness to learn Databricks, data lake architectures, Apache Kafka, and distributed system principles
– Familiarity with DataDog is a plus
