The Role

Kit (formerly ConvertKit) is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Software Engineer with expertise in React and Ruby on Rails. In this role, you will be a key member of our collaborative engineering team, responsible for developing in-app business analytics for our creators and building a scalable full-stack framework to power actionable insights for multiple engineering teams. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will utilize your deep knowledge of full-stack development, design and visualization libraries, and technical problem-solving skills to empower creators to make informed decisions about their business growth. In addition, you will have the opportunity to share your expertise and knowledge with others and contribute to the technical direction of our codebase.

Responsibilities

– Collaborate with team members to solve problems across the full stack
– Help drive the technical direction of our codebase
– Communicate effectively with product stakeholders
– Stay up-to-date with current technical best practices
– Actively participate in driving the technical direction of our codebase

Requirements

– Extensive experience with React for building high-performance user interfaces
– Experience with Ruby on Rails
– Experience working with design systems
– Previous experience writing accessible, scalable, maintainable, and performant code
– Strong code reading comprehension skills
– Ability to effectively communicate and provide clarity on frontend development challenges
– Ability to query data and create clear, actionable data visualizations
– Strong problem-solving skills
– Enthusiasm for our mission, vision, and values
– Ability to work effectively in a 100% remote company
– Availability for bi-annual company retreats
– At least a 4-hour overlap with teammates based on the east coast

Compensation + Perks + Benefits

Kit offers standardized salaries based on position, regardless of location. For this role, we are hiring at a level 4 ($174,000), out of five levels. The level is determined based on experience and our interview process.
