About the Role:
As a Senior Full-Stack Engineer on our Onboarding team, you will play a crucial role in driving business growth by developing industry-first products that allow businesses to launch their 401(k) plans in as little as five minutes. You will work closely with domain experts to design, build, test, and maintain systems and processes for servicing 401(k) plans and ensuring customer satisfaction. Your focus on reliability and scalability will be essential in earning our customers’ trust. Our engineering organization values continuous improvement, collaboration, and a proactive and empathetic mindset.
Key Responsibilities:
– Design, build, and maintain user experiences for both external and internal customers
– Develop business-critical, foundational services that serve as the data funnel for our entire platform
– Improve complex processes and systems to increase reliability and reduce the need for manual intervention
– Collaborate with other engineers and stakeholders to share knowledge and expertise
– Take ownership of domains within our system and make informed engineering tradeoffs
– Advocate for and delight both internal and external users
– Write clean, high-quality code and tests to maintain a fast, reliable, and monitorable system
– Lead and participate in development life cycle activities such as design, coding, testing, and production release
– Contribute to our evolving engineering standards, tooling, and processes
Qualifications:
– 7+ years of experience in building and maintaining software in a production environment
– Familiarity with Node, TypeScript, React, AWS, and PostgreSQL
– Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with both technical and non-technical team members
– Strong desire to learn, think creatively, and share knowledge with others
– Enjoy mentoring other engineers and providing code reviews
– Proactive and empathetic mindset with a willingness to solve problems for our customers
– Prior experience in startups and/or fintech is a plus
Nice to Have:
– Experience using and developing component libraries/design systems
– Familiarity with React Hooks and GraphQL
– Knowledge of cloud technologies such as AWS or Microsoft Azure
– System design and architecture experience
– Background in 401k or finance technology
– Self-motivated and eager to learn
– Proficiency with Git as a version control system
