Principal Software Engineer – U.S. Based Position

We are seeking an experienced Principal Software Engineer to join our team and support our clients. This role will involve leading the development of new features for Raft’s Data Platform, from the MVP stage to production deployment. You will have the autonomy to design and implement features, utilizing your technical expertise and collaborating with a diverse team of problem solvers.
Qualifications:
– 10+ years of hands-on experience as a software engineer
– Demonstrated track record of technical leadership
– Ability to disambiguate technical and functional requirements and provide direction to your team
– Proficiency in Java (or another JVM language), Python, and React
– Strong experience with multiple Big Data/Cloud/Enterprise Frameworks
– Experience creating robust web-socket and RESTFul APIs
– Deep knowledge of software design and architecture patterns
– Proficiency with one or more of the following: Kafka, Flink, Pinot, Trino, Delta Lake
– Ability to mentor junior engineers
– Able to obtain a Security+ certification within 90 days of employment with Raft
– Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or a related field
Highly preferred:
– Ability to give demos and work directly with customers
– Experience with multiple types of databases
Clearance Requirements:
– Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance
Work Type:
– Remote with up to 10% travel
Salary Range:
$160,000 – $240,000
Salary will be determined based on the candidate’s experience, skills, and abilities.
