Position: Senior iOS Engineer at Flock Safety

The Opportunity:

As our user base continues to grow, we are seeking a Senior iOS Engineer to support, maintain, and improve our Flock Safety iOS app. This role offers the chance to work on a product used by thousands of users daily and make a significant impact on public safety.

The Skillset:

– Multiple years of experience with iOS development and shipping apps to the app store
– Experience maintaining and scaling mobile apps, with a preference for experience with millions of users
– Passion for programming, strong problem-solving skills, and an understanding of software architecture
– Curiosity for new technologies and tools to solve real-world problems
– Proficiency with Swift, SwiftUI, Swift concurrency, UIKit, XCTest, and APNs
– Experience with Kotlin or NodeJS is a plus

90 Days at Flock:

– Complete onboarding and familiarize yourself with our processes and products
– Complete five tickets and review PR practices
– Begin working on CJIS certification
– Actively contribute to team discussions and share knowledge
– Get to know your team and their projects

The First 60 Days:

– Gain a deeper understanding of our features and software design philosophies
– Manage a release of the iOS app
– Feel confident navigating our code base
– Begin taking on larger engineering tasks
– Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams

90 Days & Beyond:

– Continue to ramp up and take on tasks independently
– Ability to lead in PR reviews and contribute to design reviews
– Share ideas for improving software development processes
– Present a project at our software engineering demo day
– Communicate efficiently across teams to solve problems

– Share how you collaborate and communicate with others and how you align with our values

The Executive Review:

– Meet with an executive to learn more about our company, culture, and ask thoughtful questions
