GIS Full Stack Engineer (Problem Solver) at Xcellent Technology Solutions (XTS)

Job Summary:
XTS is seeking a highly skilled and experienced GIS Full Stack Engineer to join our team of 8 engineers in supporting multiple innovation projects for USGS and The National Map. This position requires a problem solver who excels at combining GIS, Software Engineering, and AWS Cloud knowledge to provide complex code solutions. As a key member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work on user-derived solutions for geospatial product needs and contribute to the growth of our company.
Responsibilities:
– Design and implement APIs, with a minimum of 4-6 years of experience
– Proficiency with AWS CodePipeline and/or AWS CodeDeploy, or similar stack, to automate, visualize, integrate, customize, and scale software development within a CI/CD process
– Strong Python skills and experience working with Powershell and React
– Knowledge of IaC (Infrastructure as Code) using Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, or CDK, and CAC (Configuration as Code) with Chef, Ansible, Puppet, or Powershell
– Familiarity with ESRI suite of tools for developers and engineers
– Provide documented experience in solution engineering and GIS, or demonstrate strong knowledge through prior work experience
Requirements:
– Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
– 4-6 years of experience in API design and implementation
– Strong understanding of AWS Cloud and CI/CD processes
– Proficiency in Python, Powershell, and React
– Experience with IaC and CAC, and familiarity with ESRI tools
– Ability to work independently and in a team environment
– Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills
