Position Summary:
GoodLeap is looking for an experienced Senior Analyst/Energy Trader to join their Consumer Solutions and VPP team. In this role, you will be responsible for analyzing and reporting on the performance of the company’s VPPs and other products and services in various state and market programs. You will also work closely with Product and Engineering teams to inform the deployment of new trading strategies and contribute to GoodLeap’s mission of accelerating the transition to sustainable energy.
Responsibilities:
– Utilize knowledge of wholesale energy markets to analyze and report on the performance of GoodLeap’s growing GoodGrid fleet
– Generate insightful and actionable analyses and present them to both internal and external stakeholders
– Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to inform the deployment of new trading strategies
– Contribute to GoodLeap’s mission of accelerating the transition to sustainable energy by driving continuous analysis and strategy improvement in battery revenues
– Have a passion for tackling open-ended analysis and applying it to deliver tangible results
– Bias towards action and excel on fast-paced, collaborative teams
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
– Analyze data from various reporting tools to provide actionable intelligence on the performance of the wholesale battery fleet
– Collaborate with cross-functional teams to automate reporting processes and ensure scalability and efficiency
– Conduct market analysis and prepare revenue projection reports for a multi-DER portfolio of assets
– Facilitate and participate in regular meetings with internal and external stakeholders to drive understanding and alignment on battery fleet and multi-DER performance metrics
– Work closely with engineering and product teams to improve and evolve GoodGrid software for real-time, day-ahead, and market participation in regulated and deregulated markets
Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:
– 5+ years of professional experience in energy-related commodity trading or electricity market research
– Degree in Economics, Engineering, or equivalent experience
– Strong data management skills and ability to work with large datasets
– Experience with simulation techniques and evaluation of key performance indicators (KPIs)
– Proven track record of positively impacting investment or trading decisions through market analysis
– Meticulous attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
– Excellent communication skills, both written and interpersonal
– Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and meet time-sensitive deadlines
– Experience with energy and ancillary service products and stationary storage preferred
– Compensation: $120k-$170k DOE
