Why We Need You:
We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager with a strong background in people management, technical execution, and a passion for growth. In this role, you will work closely with the Senior Manager of Engineering for our Scheduling and Availability group to build a top-notch scheduling experience that empowers our users to host better meetings.
A Day in the Life:
As an Engineering Manager at Calendly, you will have the opportunity to mentor and develop a team of talented engineers. You will collaborate with our engineering and product management teams to enhance Calendly’s product and drive our future success. We are looking for a versatile technical leader who can navigate ambiguity and lead our development teams to create innovative solutions for our users.
Your Responsibilities:
– Hiring and managing engineers for new and existing squads within the company
– Solving complex problems for our most valuable customers
– Leading an initiative that is crucial to Calendly’s growth
– Mentoring, coaching, and onboarding new engineering team members
– Ensuring the career development, satisfaction, and productivity of your team
– Identifying future technical needs and creating plans to meet them
– Providing feedback and guidance to support continuous growth and scalability
Qualifications:
– 2+ years of experience managing a team
– 5+ years of overall development experience (experience with Python, Go, and PHP preferred)
– Strong proficiency in web application development and SaaS
– Experience planning and leading development efforts on large projects
– Previous experience mentoring and managing teams to achieve big goals
– Excellent communication skills and ability to explain technical concepts
– Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies
– Experience working within a balanced engineering and product team
– Knowledge of MVC frameworks for backend development
– Availability for on-call rotation and prompt response to business-critical alerts outside of regular working hours
– Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship from Calendly at this time

Salary Ranges (Expected Annual Base Salary):
Calendly takes into consideration multiple factors when determining an employee’s starting salary, including experience, skill sets, interview performance, location, and internal pay equity.
Base salary is just one component of our total rewards package. Full-time employees are also eligible for our Quarterly Corporate Bonus program, equity awards, and competitive benefits.
Salary tiers are based on the employee’s zip code (or onsite building location if hybrid) and are as follows:
– Tier 1: San Francisco, CA; San Jose, CA; New York City, NY
– Tier 2: Chicago, IL; Austin, TX; Denver, CO; Boston, MA; Washington D.C.; Philadelphia, PA; Portland, OR; Seattle, WA; Miami, FL; and all other cities in CA
– Tier 3: All other locations not in Tier 1 or Tier 2
Expected Annual Base Salary Ranges:
Tier 1: $204,306 – $276,414 USD
Tier 2: $187,281 – $253,380 USD
Tier 3: $170,255 – $230,345 USD
