As a Senior Data Engineer, you will play a crucial role in empowering our users with reliable data that is easily accessible and understandable, enabling evidence-based business decisions. Working closely with our data analysts and cross-functional teams, you will oversee our data infrastructure, utilizing modern technology and cloud services to provide a self-service data platform that drives business value.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to roll up your sleeves and support changes in our web tracking infrastructure, coach team members on building data products, and participate in design and architecture sessions. You will be a vital part of shaping our data architecture and driving impact aligned with company objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

– Collaborate with data analysts, software development engineers, and external partners to create data products for internal and external use.
– Build and maintain data products and pipelines using modern data engineering tools and services.
– Ensure our data architecture works seamlessly with surrounding tools and services.
– Proactively monitor data quality issues in our data pipelines using monitoring tools such as Metaplane, Datadog, and PagerDuty.

Qualifications:

– At least 7 years of experience in software and/or data engineering, with a strong understanding of software engineering principles.
– Familiarity with complex data modeling, ELT design, data lakes, and Big Data technologies such as Apache Spark and PySpark.
– Proficiency in languages such as Python and SQL.
– Knowledge of data lake house architectures (Apache Iceberg, AWS Glue, S3, Redshift) and data management tools like Airflow, Fivetran, and DuckDB is preferred.
– Experience with infrastructure provisioning tools like Terraform is a plus.
– Understanding of data mesh and domain-driven modeling is desirable.
– Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
– Ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural team.
