What We’re Looking For:
We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer in Test (a.k.a SDET) to support our Payments platform team. This role involves creating and evolving a platform to enable automated testing and ensure the quality and reliability of our payments processes.
Key Responsibilities:
– Design, develop, and maintain test platforms and frameworks for both frontend and backend systems.
– Integrate automated tests into the CI/CD process and observability platform.
– Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define test strategies and ensure comprehensive test coverage for new features and products.
– Write unit, component, integration, UI/UX, API, e2e, and contract tests.
– Identify potential test gaps and propose solutions to address them.
– Work closely with software engineers to understand architecture, code structure, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
– Participate in design and code reviews to promote quality and identify potential test requirements.
– Identify, log, and track defects, ensuring timely resolution and contributing to high product quality.
– Analyze test results and provide regular reports on test coverage, defects, and overall quality metrics. Automate this process as part of the testing platform.
– Provide 2nd level support and bug fixing as a member of the site reliability process.
– Write, maintain, and support test documentation.
– Perform load, scalability, and performance testing.
– Monitor production and test environment health.
Required Skills:
– Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
– 5+ years of experience as a Software Development Engineer in Test or in a similar role.
– Proven experience with test automation frameworks and tools (e.g., Selenium, Appium, JUnit, TestNG, etc.).
– Strong proficiency in a programming language such as Java.
– Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab, CircleCI) and integrating automated tests into pipelines.
– Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and branching strategies.
– Hands-on experience with microservices architecture.
– Proficiency in SQL.
– Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization tools (Docker, Kubernetes).
– Knowledge of API testing tools (e.g., Postman, RestAssured).
– Experience with test visibility within Observability platforms like Datadog, grafana, etc.
– Experience with performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter, LoadRunner).
– In-depth knowledge of software testing methodologies.
– In-depth knowledge of the testing pyramid with experience to write tests for each level.
– Intermediate or above proficiency in English language, both written and spoken.
