We are currently seeking a Senior Fullstack Engineer to join our team and help shape the future of physical operations. Our product solutions include Video-Based Safety, Vehicle Telematics, Apps and Driver Workflows, Equipment Monitoring, and Site Visibility. About the role:
As a Full-Stack Software Engineer on our New Product team, you will design and develop a new product across a broad surface area, driving impact for both current and future customers. This role is ideal for a passionate builder who thrives on the challenge of developing new products from the ground up, working across backend, frontend, and mobile stacks. You will have the opportunity to take full ownership of features, from architectural design through to release, ensuring the product meets the high standards our users expect.
This is a remote position open to candidates residing in Canada.

In this role, you will:
– Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers from various teams to architect, build, test, and deliver a new product across front-end, back-end, and mobile.
– Continuously evaluate and improve the performance, reliability, and user experience of our new product.
– Propose technical solutions and spearhead technical solutioning on some of the team’s initiatives.
– Mentor, develop, and support other engineers on the team.
– Maintain a regular feedback loop to allow for implementation iterations and make adjustments.
– Champion, role model, and embody Samsara’s cultural principles (Focus on Customer Success, Build for the Long Term, Adopt a Growth Mindset, Be Inclusive, Win as a Team) as we scale globally and across new offices.
Minimum requirements for the role:
– Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
– 5+ years of relevant industry experience in software development.
– Strong programming/coding fundamentals with proficiency in at least one of the following: Go, GraphQL, TypeScript, React.
– Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills, with a demonstrated ability to manage technical discussions.
An ideal candidate also has:
– AWS knowledge and expertise.
– Experience in React Native.
– Experience delivering a new product.
– Enjoyment for understanding our users and what would make their day-to-day processes easier to manage.
– Love for shipping features that are immediately used by our customers.
Samsara’s Compensation Philosophy:
Our compensation program is designed to deliver Total Direct Compensation (based on role, level, and geography) that is at or above market. We achieve this through our base salary + bonus/variable + restricted stock unit awards (RSUs) for eligible roles. A new hire RSU award may be given at the time of hire, and additional RSU refresh grants may be awarded annually. We reward top performers in eligible roles with above-market equity refresh awards, allowing employees to achieve higher market positioning.
The range of annual base salary for full-time employees for this position is below. Please note that the base pay offered may vary depending on factors such as your city of residence, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
$120,275 — $132,303 CAD
