Role Description:
VSCO is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Manager to lead our Product Design & Research team. This individual will play a crucial role in driving product strategy, uncovering new opportunities, and delivering exceptional designs. As the head of the Product Design & Research team, you will be responsible for cultivating a collaborative and empathetic work environment. You will have the opportunity to lead and create, balancing between visionary concepts and pixel-level details. Your contributions will shape our understanding of our customers and drive the development of impactful experiences for millions of creators worldwide.
Responsibilities:
– Collaborate with leadership to refine our product vision and roadmap
– Oversee all design and research cycles, from early discovery to delivery and evaluation
– Manage and mentor a team of four, including defining growth plans, establishing rituals, and managing the team backlog
– Maintain high-quality standards and ensure that work aligns with business goals, technical limitations, and user needs
– Collaborate with cross-functional partners to iterate on product development processes
– Shape our shared design system and brand language
– Serve as an advocate for creators within the company
– Proactively drive design initiatives with speed and thoughtfulness, leveraging user research and data
– Maintain a high level of accountability and ownership, effectively collaborating with cross-functional teams to resolve challenges and maintain momentum
Qualifications:
– Proven experience building teams and delivering high-quality work with significant business impact in a startup environment
– Experience designing for web and mobile platforms
– A growth mindset and the ability to lead others through experimentation, failure, and learning loops
– Proficiency in Agile product development processes, design tools, and research methodologies
– Understanding of technical limitations and the ability to advocate for concepts across teams
– Exceptional presentation and storytelling skills
– Familiarity with the photographer experience and digital creative platforms

Compensation:
The base salary for this position may vary based on several factors, including the approved job level. The base salary range for this role is $200,000 – $220,000. In addition to salary, this position is eligible for equity (i.e. stock options) and discretionary bonuses based on performance. Our total compensation package also includes benefits such as flexible time off, a 401K retirement plan, insurance (medical, dental, vision, life/AD&D, short and long term disability), 11 paid holidays, and paid sick time as required by state and local law.
