Position: High Throughput Screening Data Scientist at Serna Bio
Serna Bio is a pioneering preclinical drug discovery company that is revolutionizing small-molecule drug discovery through its innovative Discovery Platform. We are seeking a skilled High Throughput Screening Data Scientist to join our computational biology team and enhance our analytics capabilities. In this role, you will play a vital role in organizing and analyzing data related to HTS screening and driving our research initiatives forward.
Responsibilities:
– Lead and contribute to the design and execution of bioinformatics pipelines for the analysis of small molecule HTS data
– Work closely and cross-functionally with our biology and engineering teams
– Ensure the integration of the right data into assay design to support robust statistical testing approaches
– Collaborate with the drug discovery team to support experimental analysis for drug discovery programs
– Write code in a scalable manner, utilizing bioinformatics programming and scripting languages such as Python, Perl, and R
– Bonus: Experience with AWS/GCP and good coding practices
Requirements:
– MSC/PhD or equivalent in statistics, biostatistics, epidemiology, or similar
– Experience with data analysis from HTS small molecule screens and pooled CRISPR Screens
– Previous experience working in small, interdisciplinary and remote teams
– Proven experience working with biology teams in a commercial environment for drug discovery programs
– Expert in Bioinformatics programming and scripting languages (Python, Perl, R)
– Bonus: Experience with AWS/GCP and good coding practices
Qualifications:
– Exceptionally detail-oriented with a love for organization
– Excellent communication skills, able to present findings and collaborate effectively
– Able to juggle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
– Previous experience in a start-up or clear rationale for joining a small company
