Team Description:
The Safety Org is one of the largest divisions at Reddit, responsible for fostering safe communities. As part of the Safety UX team, you will collaborate with product development, scaled abuse detection/mitigation, threat intelligence, and safety operations to create tools and workflows for our internal admins and agents, as well as our users. With over 100,000 active communities and 97 million daily unique visitors, Reddit is a major source of information on the internet.
Role Description:
As a Contract Product Designer, you will work closely with the UX Lead to design and deliver solutions for our internal tooling and safety touchpoints on the Reddit platform. We are looking for a designer who can hit the ground running and balance innovation with usability.
Responsibilities:
– Support the design of Safety UX
– Translate complex ideas into elegant, scalable, and intuitive design solutions for web and mobile platforms
– Execute design deliverables at every stage of the design lifecycle, from ideation to delivery
– Collaborate with designers, product managers, engineers, and UX researchers to realize deliverables
– Utilize design system experience to develop new patterns (bonus)
Qualifications:
– 3+ years of experience in UX/UI design with a strong portfolio showcasing complex system design
– Strong product sensibilities, experience in safety or related functions is a plus
– Comfort with complexity and finding clarity in ambiguous situations
– Excellent communication skills, including the ability to tell an inspiring story and present ideas effectively
– Humble, curious, and motivated to ship the best product
