Startfield, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, is seeking a part-time Cybersecurity Support Technician to join our team. Our mission is to increase diversity in the technology industry by offering career exploration, training, and mentorship opportunities to students from underrepresented communities. Our programs and initiatives engage middle and high school students in real-world learning experiences and prepare them for future career opportunities.
Responsibilities:
– Assess overall security risks and implement appropriate measures to protect the organization’s tech stack and sensitive information
– Develop and maintain procedures for employees to follow to maintain a strong security posture
– Monitor for vulnerabilities and risks in existing software and access configurations
– Stay current on the latest technology and best practices in information security
Qualifications:
– Enrolled in or recently completed a degree or training program focused on Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related fields
– Strong understanding of basic cybersecurity, common threats, and vulnerabilities
– Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify strengths and weaknesses in cloud-based applications and systems
– Able to work independently and as part of a remote team
– Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
