Job Description:

Join the Disney Dreamlight Valley team as a Technical Artist! As a key member of the team, you will play a crucial role in managing and maintaining a large and constantly evolving library of art assets. Your focus will be on process improvement, asset validation, and automation, providing you with a unique opportunity to work on the technical side of art pipelines. You will work closely with artists to ensure consistency in our asset library.

Qualifications:

– Strong programming skills, including proficiency in Python, batch scripting, and C#.
– Familiarity with popular DCC tools such as 3ds Max, Maya, Blender, ZBrush, Substance Painter, and Photoshop.
– Experience in creating batch scripts for Windows and/or Python scripts for asset management. Knowledge of version control systems is a plus.
– Proficiency in Unity, particularly in C#, to support asset integration and validation within the game engine.
– A proactive attitude towards learning and exploring new tools and software, with a desire to solve technical challenges in art pipelines.

Nice-to-Have Skills:

– Previous experience with building or using asset validation tools for large-scale projects.
– Knowledge of version control systems like SVN and Git.
– Basic understanding of game development pipelines and asset workflows, especially for stylized or simulation games.

Responsibilities:

– Maintain, organize, and validate art assets in our repository to ensure compliance with the latest guidelines.
– Develop scripts in Python, batch scripts, and C# to automate tasks related to our infrastructure needs.
– Create or modify DCC tools for various software, such as 3ds Max, Maya, Blender, ZBrush, and Substance Painter, to streamline and automate workflows.
– Assist in the development and maintenance of the art pipeline, building tools and processes to increase artists’ efficiency.
– Implement validation tools and processes to ensure that assets meet technical requirements and team standards.
– Have a basic understanding of art software like Photoshop and Marmoset to support artists and develop automation tools for existing assets.
