This is a remote role, however, we prefer applicants based in Pittsburgh, NY Capital Region, or near our headquarters in Seattle who can commit to a hybrid schedule for more face-to-face interactions with team members.
The Role:
As a Senior Data Analyst/Steward, you will play a crucial role in driving our Data Governance efforts. Working within our Engineering department and reporting directly to our Data Governance Manager, you will lead and enhance our Data Governance processes and standards, understand company needs, and execute critical projects on our Data Governance roadmap. Specifically, you will be responsible for spearheading our initiative to create a best-in-class metrics program and culture.
Key Responsibilities:
– Own and lead critical data governance projects, including our metrics program, through project management and communication.
– Mitigate risks and remove blockers to ensure successful project completion.
– Collaborate cross-functionally to drive initiatives.
– Act as Data Steward for critical data within Omnidian’s business, including data retention, legal/audit requirements, business terms, data subject requests, and access requests.
– Maintain centralized data documentation, such as Conceptual Data Model, Physical Data Model, Data Flow Documentation, and Data Mapping Documentation.
– Serve as an ambassador for data governance to the business area.
– Monitor, track, and create alerts and runbooks for data quality.
– Securely pull ad-hoc data from appropriate sources as needed by the business.
– Create reports and dashboards for the business.
– Work with the BI Team to operationalize reports and dashboards.
Who You Are:
– A Data Governance expert with in-depth knowledge of processes and standards.
– Experienced in data analysis, with the ability to work with and visualize data from structured and unstructured sources.
– A strong leader with the ability to mentor cross-functionally.
– An excellent communicator, able to effectively convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
– Able to understand business needs, users, technology, and data, and collaborate with stakeholders to design and deliver data foundations that provide business value.
– A problem-solver with strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
Experience You’ll Need:
– 3+ years of experience in Data Governance.
– 3+ years of experience in data analysis.
– Expertise in Data Governance processes and standards.
Experience That’s a Plus:
– Experience in the clean energy industry.
– Familiarity with Salesforce, Databricks, Sigma, or RDS.
– Experience with both manual processes and tooling (such as Informatica or Collibra) to support Data Governance.
