Senior Solution Engineer for State & Local Government

As a Senior Solution Engineer for State & Local Government, you will utilize your expertise in GIS to identify the appropriate analysis tools to solve complex business challenges. Responsibilities:

– Build and maintain relationships with customers by presenting and demonstrating Esri software and solutions as part of an account team
– Serve as a technical leader and subject matter expert for state and local government, staying up-to-date on the latest sales strategies and initiatives
– Understand the business structure and workflows of organizations, as well as integration points with third party systems
– Proactively propose solutions that demonstrate the value of GIS to customers and address their critical challenges
– Design and deliver complex strategies that align Esri technology with the business needs of our largest customers
– Develop presentations for technical and non-technical audiences at conferences and executive engagements
– Provide configuration guidance and best practices to customers
– Coach new team members on best practices and share knowledge

Requirements:

– 5+ years of experience using Esri technology for map creation, spatial analysis, and web application configuration
– 3+ years of experience working with or supporting state or local government
– Strong understanding of ArcGIS from an IT perspective, including hardware, storage, security, networking, web services, virtualization, and cloud computing
– Demonstrated experience in technical consulting and conceptual solution design
– Familiarity with sales and business development processes
– Ability to troubleshoot client issues related to Esri application deployment and system architecture
– Knowledge of geodatabases and underlying DBMS technology
– Experience with cloud computing concepts and environments, particularly Microsoft Azure or AWS
– Experience integrating software solutions with other business systems, such as data warehousing, BI, CRM, ERP, and analytics platforms
– Proficiency in programming and scripting languages, including Python and JavaScript
– Exceptional presentation, interpersonal, and listening skills
– Willingness to travel domestically or internationally 25-50%
– Bachelor’s degree in geography, computer science, or a related field
– Must be authorized to work for any employer in the US

Preferred Qualifications:

– Experience incorporating real-time information streams into existing GIS data and IT infrastructure
– Knowledge of digitalization strategies, including mobile, IoT, advanced analytics and data science (AI/ML), and imagery
– Master’s degree in geography, computer science, or a related field
– Additional programming and scripting experience with languages such as Python and JavaScript
