Key Responsibilities:
As the Technical Artist Lead, you will play a crucial role in our company by leading and mentoring our team of technical artists to ensure the delivery of high-quality and high-performance assets. Your responsibilities will include:
– Collaborating with the art and engineering teams to optimize workflows, game performance, and resolve technical challenges.
– Designing tools to streamline artist workflows, increase efficiency, and support multi-platform asset creation.
– Optimizing assets to meet performance goals in terms of texture, polygons, and memory requirements.
– Developing shaders and visual effects that balance visual quality with performance.
– Providing technical guidance on asset creation, rigging, and animation to maintain pipeline integrity.
– Prototyping and troubleshooting visual features for new mechanics, with support from the engineering team.
– Researching and implementing new technologies to enhance the art and animation pipeline.
– Documenting tools, workflows, and processes to ensure consistent project alignment.
Requirements:
To qualify for this role, you should have:
– Proven experience as a Technical Artist in the gaming industry for at least 3+ years, with previous experience in a lead or senior role.
– Proficiency in 3D art tools such as Maya, Blender, 3ds Max, and game engines like Unity or Unreal Engine.
– Strong knowledge of shader development, rendering pipelines, and performance optimization for multiple platforms.
– Experience with scripting/programming languages (e.g., Python, MEL, C#) to develop tools and automate workflows.
– Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot and address technical challenges efficiently.
– Leadership skills with a proven track record of mentoring and guiding a team of technical artists.
