Job Description:
As an Annotation Data Engineer, you will be the key liaison between our engineering and project management teams. Your role will involve utilizing your technical expertise to support our data annotation efforts and collaborate with relevant teams. You will be responsible for ensuring high standards in data quality and efficiency of our annotation systems and usability of annotated data. This is a vital role that requires effective communication, technical proficiency, and the ability to manage workflows and teams.
Responsibilities:
– Oversee and optimize existing image annotation workflows in collaboration with the annotation team
– Review, refine, and expand data annotation guidelines to maintain consistent data quality across projects
– Partner with platform engineering teams to enhance current annotation systems and develop new systems to meet evolving needs
– Develop and maintain systems to review and clean annotation data, ensuring data integrity and usability
– Manage the maintenance of existing data collection systems and design and build new ones to improve data acquisition processes
– Research, evaluate, and integrate automated annotation tools to increase efficiency in the annotation pipeline
– Benchmark performance metrics for the annotation team, manage capacity planning, and make recommendations for productivity improvements.
Requirements:
– Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate across teams and document processes and improvements
– Minimum of two years of experience in Python, Bash scripting, and web frontend programming to support annotation processes
– Familiarity with Git or similar source control systems to manage codebase and versioning is advantageous.
Preferred Qualifications:
– Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related fields (not required but highly recommended)
– Background in video annotation or annotations for robotics applications, which will be helpful for specialized tasks and understanding complex annotation requirements.
