Puzzle is seeking a highly experienced Senior Backend Engineer with expertise in Cassandra, Golang and/or Python to join our team. This is a full-time position based in Latin America.
As a Senior Backend Engineer at Puzzle, you will collaborate with our existing engineering team to contribute to the direction and development of user-facing products. This includes understanding and troubleshooting technical problems, improving performance, and assisting with legacy migrations. We are looking for someone who can thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and has a strong understanding of data-intensive systems.
Key Responsibilities:
– Collaborate with product, design, and other engineering teams to execute on product and business strategies and develop innovative features for our users.
– Contribute to the full development cycle, including technical design, development, testing, analysis, and launch.
– Review code and design documents, provide feedback on product specifications and mockups.
– Participate in a team of motivated engineers and contribute to improving developer workflows.
– Mentor junior engineers to help them grow their technical skills.
– Continuously learn and improve technical and non-technical abilities.
Requirements:
– 8+ years of experience in one or more general-purpose programming languages, such as Go, Python, Rust, or Ruby.
– 5+ years of industry experience in large-scale distributed systems.
– Familiarity with GraphQL, REST, HTTP, and Thrift.
– Experience with distributed caching layers and large-scale data storage systems, such as Cassandra.
– Proven track record of developing and improving highly scalable and reliable systems.
– Experience leading projects that require cross-team and cross-functional collaborations.
– Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks to meet project deadlines.
– Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a similar technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
