Job Description:

We are seeking a highly experienced and detail-oriented Data Analyst III with expertise in business intelligence, data transformation, and statistical analysis. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in data analysis, proficiency in SQL and Power BI (or other visualization tools), and a deep understanding of business analytics. The role will involve extracting and transforming data for business intelligence tools, utilizing a variety of quantitative research methods, enhancing and editing key reports, and developing end-user documentation and training materials. The successful candidate will possess strong critical thinking skills, attention to detail, and the ability to effectively communicate with senior leadership. Additional skills in programming languages such as Python or R, experience with subscription models, knowledge of data engineering fundamentals, and a basic understanding of statistical modeling and machine learning are preferred. This role will also support project management and contribute to process improvements.

Key Responsibilities:

– Understand business stakeholder needs and translate them into logical and technical approaches for utilizing data to address challenges and opportunities
– Conduct advanced ad hoc analyses across various data sets to uncover insights in areas such as sales, marketing, and product
– Utilize both transformed and raw data sets to understand, validate, and transform data into meaningful KPIs and attributes
– Develop compelling data storytelling through visualizations and reports that drive decision-making and align with strategic business goals
– Present findings to non-technical stakeholders in a clear and impactful manner
– Prototype persistent data models and collaborate with data engineering team to integrate them into the data warehouse
– Provide guidance for advanced analytics such as predictive modeling and machine learning
– Collaborate in building and maintaining a data governance framework to ensure consistency across KPIs and standardized definitions for attributes and measures

Qualifications:

– Minimum of 7 years experience as an Analyst or in a related role
– Expertise in advanced data analysis techniques and statistical modeling
– Proficiency in programming languages (e.g. Python, R) and advanced analytical tools
– Strong project management skills and experience leading projects
– Bachelor’s degree in Math, Statistics, Computer Science, Business, Economics, or a related field
– Inherently curious and enthusiastic
– Experience with Power BI and/or other visualization tools
– Advanced SQL skills
– Strong analytic and critical thinking skills
– Proficient in Microsoft Excel (intermediate to advanced level)
– Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage with senior leadership
– Experience with statistical and mathematical data analysis techniques such as regression analysis is a plus
– Familiarity with machine learning techniques is a plus
– Experience with Google Analytics and/or other web analytics platforms is a plus
– Experience working with a membership/subscription model preferred
