About the role:
As a Senior Data Scientist, you will be responsible for leading research, developing machine learning solutions, and architecting solutions for internal and external customers across the SEEK Pass and the wider SEEK Group. You will play a crucial role in the company’s document verification and validation efforts, and be involved in a culture of continual improvement and collaboration.
Key responsibilities:
– Create and evolve AI solutions for product features
– Design and conduct evaluations to compare AI-based product features
– Act as a technical reference for the team on core AI topics
– Lead the team in delivering AI projects to support business priorities
– Research, build, deploy, and maintain integrated AI solutions
– Collaborate with teams from Asia and Pacific partners
– Strengthen secure coding practices within the team
– Gather and validate data relevant to business problems
– Design and build data transformation pipelines and machine learning algorithms
– Work with product management and other business partners to review and iterate data products
– Evangelize appropriate ML methods and explain their benefits and limitations to team members
– Actively communicate and contribute to the well-being of team members
– Contribute to the onboarding of new hires
– Foster a safe space for sharing opinions and feedback
– Actively seek out learning opportunities for self and others
– Contribute to the data science community at SEEK Pass and SEEK
– Provide regular feedback to improve self and others
Qualifications:
Essential Skills and Experience:
– Extensive experience with Computer Vision
– MSc or PhD in Computer Science, Computational Physics, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field
– 6 years of experience in Data Science
– Proficiency in Python, Go, Scala, C/C++, or Java
– Strong background in Algorithms and data structures, Machine Learning, and Computer Vision
– Experience with modern data science practices
– Experience with Data Modeling and Machine Learning algorithms
– Experience with continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD)
– Commercial experience with agile methodologies
– Experience working in multi-functional technology teams
– Proactive in professional growth and learning
– Experience giving and receiving effective feedback
Desirable Skills and Experience:
– Ability to perform data exploratory analysis and communicate results
– Experience using data to support decision-making
– Practice with Computer Vision processing libraries (e.g., OpenCV, YOLO, Rekognition)
– Experience with relational databases such as MySQL or PostgreSQL
– Experience with Amazon Web Services (e.g. EC2, S3, VPC, SQS, SageMaker)
– Experience with distributed processing frameworks such as Hadoop or Spark
– Experience with container packages such as Docker
– Knowledge in Computer Vision, Deep Learning, Natural Language Processing, and Optimization
– Ability to adapt quickly to a fast-paced environment
– Comfortable working with encrypted and sensitive data
