Gather is seeking a highly experienced Senior Design Engineer to join our growing team. In this role, you will collaborate directly with the Chief Product Officer and play a crucial role in shaping and executing our company’s vision. Your expertise in design engineering will be key in driving and delivering our most important R&D and production features. Responsibilities:
– Collaborate with designers and artists to bring novel concepts to life through prototyping and demos
– Partner with product engineering to ensure high-quality production of features
– Drive Gather’s technical roadmap, with a focus on design systems and usability
– Act as a technical resource for the design team throughout the product life cycle
– Create and manage schedules and deliverables for complex projects
– Continuously improve and refine the user experience
– Lead and participate in customer interviews
Qualifications:
– 5+ years of experience in a design engineering role at a company that delivers high-quality products
– Strong experience with Typescript/React, HTML, CSS, and JS animations
– Expertise in interaction design and prototyping
– Experience designing mobile and web consumer products at scale, bonus points for experience in gaming
– Ability to work on both broad and well-defined projects
– Strong communication skills, both verbally and in writing
– Comfortable in an agile and fast-paced startup environment
– Passion for understanding and solving customer problems
– Ability to build strong cross-functional relationships
