About the Role:
We are looking for a driven and skilled Full-Stack Developer to join our team in building an advanced Planetary Intelligence Platform. This platform utilizes natural language processing, geospatial analytics, and machine learning to provide valuable insights for environmental management. The ideal candidate should have a strong passion for software development, GIS technologies, and a curiosity to integrate cutting-edge AI and machine learning models.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and optimize the backend and frontend components of the platform for high performance and scalability.
• Integrate AI models to enhance system intelligence and implement natural language query capabilities.
• Enhance database architecture for efficient data retrieval and real-time analytics.
• Collaborate with data scientists to transform backend scripts into user-friendly frontend experiences for seamless visualization.
• Design and implement interactive map-based visualizations using Mapbox or similar technologies.
• Develop features like comparison tools for analyzing environmental changes over time.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of machine learning models and geospatial analytics.
• Identify and resolve bottlenecks in data processing and rendering to optimize platform performance.
Requirements:
• Strong background in computer science, engineering, and problem-solving skills equivalent to a solutions architect or systems designer.
• Curiosity and willingness to learn and experiment with new technologies and AI systems.
• Ability and confidence to make technology architecture decisions.
• Visionary mindset and ability to develop towards long-term goals with simplicity in mind.
• Proficiency in frontend development (Next.js, React.js, but flexibility in frameworks is welcome).
• Solid understanding of database structures, optimization, and performance tuning.
• Independent and proactive with a knack for identifying technical improvements.
• Familiarity with UX/UI principles and ability to enhance visual presentation of geospatial data.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience in Python, particularly for geospatial or machine learning applications.
• Knowledge of geospatial analysis tools and libraries (e.g., GDAL, GeoPandas, QGIS, ArcGIS, Mapbox) is a plus.
