Job Description:
We are seeking a Senior Concept Designer with exceptional visual ideation skills and a strong imagination. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for proportion, form, color, surfacing, and lighting, as well as the ability to accurately execute concepts for various genres and styles. In this role, you will work closely with the Art Director to create world-class visual solutions and empower them in aligning and clarifying goals. This is a 100% remote position, working with an international team on AA or AAA games in Unreal Studio.
Responsibilities:
– Create accurate, inspirational concepts to be used as blueprints for 3D artists
– Collaborate with the Art Director to develop visual solutions that align with goals
– Continuously ideate designs for characters, creatures, environments, weapons, and props
– Create additional working drawings during all phases of production
– Maintain momentum and flexibility while delivering world-class visual solutions
– Utilize thought and expertise to quickly visualize solutions
Qualifications:
– Bachelor’s Degree in Illustration, Entertainment Design, or Industrial Design
– 5+ years of experience in concept design, with at least 3 years as a Senior Concept Designer in a game studio, film studio, or other entertainment production setting
– A strong portfolio showcasing your thought process and skills
– Expertise in both analog and digital tools used in concept development
– Proactive and self-accountable
– Ability to inspire and motivate others through design
– Knowledge of appropriate usage of 3D/AI tools in concept development
– Fluency in English for international communication
Nice to Have:
– Knowledge of different languages and cultures
– Desire and ability to inspire/motivate others through design
– Familiarity with 3D/AI tools used in concept development
