About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Staff Analytics Engineer to join our Analytics team. In this role, you will play a critical role in driving data-driven insights and solutions for the organization. As a part of the engineering division, you will manage a self-serve business intelligence ecosystem, provide dedicated support to key teams, and develop data products that inform internal and external decision-making. Our analytics data model, built in DBT and Snowflake, enables accurate reporting, dashboards, and in-depth analysis. We value curiosity, critical thinking, and making data accessible and impactful throughout the company.

Key Responsibilities:

– Develop and maintain financial data models that provide clear visibility into business performance metrics.
– Own and improve our billing engine, supporting monthly customer billing processes and enhancing tooling for better self-service.
– Lead initiatives to streamline month-end close procedures through automation and validation of data.
– Analyze and interpret financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for margin improvements or operational efficiencies.
– Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for process improvement through analytics engineering.
– Establish best practices for financial data governance and documentation.

Qualifications:

– Proven experience in analytics engineering, data analytics, or similar technical roles with exposure to financial systems.
– Comfort with ambiguity and the ability to drive projects forward with minimal oversight.
– Strong SQL skills with experience in modern data warehouse environments (Snowflake preferred).
– Experience with DBT or similar data transformation frameworks.
– Experience with Python and version control workflows (Git).
– Experience supporting finance teams, working with financial data models and concepts.

Our Ideal Candidate:

The ideal candidate for this role thrives on ownership and approaches problems at a goal level rather than a task level. They are excited about building scalable systems and enabling others to self-serve their data needs. They understand that great financial data infrastructure requires technical excellence and a deep understanding of the business context. They enjoy collaborating with stakeholders to uncover true needs and delivering solutions that exceed expectations.

Benefits:

– Health, vision, and dental insurance.
– Unlimited PTO.
– 401(k) match.
– Life Insurance and AD&D policy.
– 3% cashback on all Privacy purchases.
– 12-weeks fully paid parental leave.
– Work From Anywhere: work from anywhere in the world for 4 weeks each year.

We believe that in-person collaboration boosts creativity, communication, and agility, which are key to our growth. Employees in the NYC area are asked to work from our SoHo office three days a week – Tuesdays and Thursdays are core in-office days – the third is flexible.

In-office employees receive:

– $50/month towards your commute.
– Free lunch every Tuesday and Thursday.
