About the Role:
As OpenAI continues to grow, we are seeking experienced and solution-oriented engineers to develop new products and scale our systems. This role requires the ability to quickly iterate on products while ensuring they are reliable and performant. You will work in a fast-paced and collaborative environment to bring our technology to millions of users globally, with a strong emphasis on safety and reliability.
Key Responsibilities:
– Design and build development and production platforms for ChatGPT, prioritizing reliability and security at scale.
– Collaborate with researchers, engineers, product managers, and designers to introduce new features and research capabilities.
– Increase engineering productivity by providing effective tooling and systems for your fellow engineers.
– Contribute to creating a diverse and inclusive culture that encourages open communication and challenges groupthink.
– Participate in an on-call rotation for critical incident response.
– Ensure the reliability of the systems you build.
Qualifications:
– Significant experience in building and rebuilding production systems to support new product features and manage increased scale.
– Dedication to creating a positive end-user experience and solving customer needs.
– Humility, a willingness to assist colleagues, and a determination to help the team succeed.
– Ability to take ownership of problems and see them through to completion, even if it requires learning new skills.
– Experience developing tools to streamline workflows, with a preference for custom solutions over off-the-shelf options.
– Previous experience as a startup founder or early-stage engineer.
