Job Description:
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Mobile Engineer with a focus on Reliability to join our team of DevOps and Quality Engineers. In this role, you will play a critical role in implementing best practices for observability, scalability, and recoverability for our iOS and Android products. Your expertise in programming languages such as Swift and Kotlin will be essential. This is a unique opportunity to make an impact across the entire organization by integrating cloud infrastructure, software development, and operations expertise.
Responsibilities:
– Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software engineers, product managers, and infrastructure specialists, to ensure that our systems are designed and built for reliability from the ground up.
– Lead efforts to establish clear visibility into system performance in production, using observability tools such as Datadog and OpenTelemetry (Otel).
– Provide actionable feedback and recommendations to other engineering teams based on real-time data and insights.
– Work closely with feature development teams to establish Service Level Objectives (SLOs) and Service Level Indicators (SLIs).
– Develop supportive tools to test code, measure performance, examine memory usage, and investigate app instability.
– Architect, design, and maintain robust observability tools and frameworks tailored to our codebases and infrastructure.
– Use industry-standard tools like Datadog and OpenTelemetry to ensure comprehensive monitoring, logging, and tracing for our mobile applications.
– Mentor and train engineers on reliability tactics, including creating documentation, conducting one-on-one sessions, and leading group training workshops.
Qualifications:
– Extensive experience in developing and optimizing software, with a background in mobile development using Swift and/or Kotlin.
– Proven expertise in designing and implementing observability tools and frameworks, particularly using Datadog, OpenTelemetry, and related technologies.
– Deep understanding of reliability metrics and ability to apply them effectively in production systems.
– Passion for continuous learning and teaching, with experience mentoring engineers in SRE and observability best practices.

The target salary range for this position is between $160,000 and $200,000. We offer a competitive total rewards package that includes incentives, equity, and benefits for eligible roles. Individual pay may vary and is determined by factors such as experience, internal pay equity, and other business considerations.
