Position Title: Lead WordPress Developer for Fast-Growing Pet Company
Location: Remote

Job Description:
We are seeking a talented web developer who is passionate about WordPress and excited to build new features that will be used by millions of pet lovers every month. As the Lead WordPress Developer, you will be responsible for fixing issues, proactively maintaining site security, and developing new features for our media sites and e-commerce brand, Hepper. This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) with flexible work hours and the ability to work remotely.
Responsibilities:
• Fixing issues and maintaining site security
• Developing new features for our media sites and e-commerce brand
• Hiring and managing 1-2 developers in the web development department
• Collaborating with content and marketing departments to troubleshoot and fix bugs
• Performing scheduled and non-scheduled maintenance and security updates on WordPress sites
• Staying informed on new technology and best practices
Qualifications:
• Experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript/jQuery, PHP, and MySQL
• Strong understanding of WordPress development, including themes, hooks, filters, and plugin API
• Experience with build tools like Webpack or ViteJS and Composer
• Proficiency with SSH and Git
• Strong troubleshooting abilities
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
• Excellent communication skills
Desired Skills:
• Experience with managing databases and optimizing for high traffic
• Familiarity with front-end design, but with a strong focus on backend coding
• Experience with hiring, managing, and conducting code reviews for other developers
