Position Overview:
We are seeking a collaborative, communicative, and results-driven VP of Engineering to lead our department and drive innovation in our Email Authentication as a Service platform. In this role, you will shape our technology strategy, oversee product execution, and ensure the scalability, reliability, and security of our solutions.
What You’ll Be Doing:
– Provide strategic direction and technical leadership to the engineering team.
– Develop and execute the engineering roadmap in alignment with corporate strategy and objectives as part of the executive team.
– Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align engineering efforts with business goals.
– Work with product management and cross-functional teams to define requirements and roadmap.
– Lead end-to-end product implementation execution, ensuring on-time and high-quality delivery.
– Drive the design and development of our scalable, compliant, and secure platform.
– Build and mentor a diverse, engaged, and high-performing engineering team.
– Translate company strategy into clear department goals and performance expectations.
– Engage in career development conversations to ensure proper growth and development of all team members.
– Drive architectural decisions for scalability, reliability, and security in partnership with your engineering leadership team.
– Implement best practices for software development, delivery, and quality assurance.
– Balance tradeoffs between velocity and quality to ensure the right balance for a startup moving into a scaleup.
About You:
– 8+ years of engineering leadership experience in delivering a SaaS solution.
– Strong technical background in software development, ideally leading teams in Ruby and Go.
– Proven success in scaling codebases and teams from startup to scaleup.
– Experience managing highly scalable infrastructure handling critical business data or transactions.
– Experience managing a distributed, remote team.
– Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making skills.
– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with team members, peers, and management.
Bonus Points:
– Experience developing a solution in cybersecurity.
– Experience with FedRAMP, SOC2 Type II compliance.
– Familiarity with email security or DMARC protocols.
– Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams.
– Experience with DNS and other public network protocols.
– Experience managing teams working in Ruby and Go.
