Senior Full Stack Engineer – Animal Health Software Company

Role and Responsibilities:
As a Senior Full Stack Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing modern veterinary software used by thousands of users in animal hospitals globally. In this role, you will take ownership of projects and have the opportunity to work on complex features and bugs. You will collaborate closely with a small, cross-functional, and highly-collaborative team to deliver high-quality software that meets our customers’ needs. Your responsibilities will include:
– Leading software projects from scoping to release
– Designing efficient, reliable, and scalable solutions
– Building software using Elixir, React, and other associated technologies
– Mentoring and providing guidance to junior team members
– Collaborating with product, engineering, and QA teams to deliver high-quality software within expected timelines
– Researching and resolving complex customer issues
– Staying up-to-date with industry best practices for software design, development, and unit testing
– Leading discussions on best practices within the team
Qualifications:
– Proven experience building modern SaaS applications
– Strong knowledge of both back-end and front-end development languages
– Ability to break down complex problems into actionable tasks
– Team-oriented mindset, with a willingness to mentor and support others
– Excellent communication skills, particularly in a remote work environment
– Strong commitment to delivering high-quality work driven by empathy for our customers and their patients
– Detail-oriented and organized in your work
Nice-to-Haves:
– Deep knowledge of Elixir or Erlang for back-end development
– Familiarity with Typescript and React for front-end development
– Experience using AWS for building, deploying, and troubleshooting applications
– Extensive experience with relational databases and efficient query-building
