About the Role:
Flex is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to develop and maintain the platforms and APIs that support our business features. As a member of the partner growth engineering team, you will be responsible for building, improving, and maintaining core services that drive our network growth. This includes implementing new partner integrations and working on projects to increase customer adoption rates. You will collaborate with product, design, and engineering teams to solve our users’ biggest challenges when it comes to rent payment. Your role will involve designing, testing, and scaling services to enhance partner experiences and ensure a reliable end-to-end bill payment process.
The ideal candidate will have at least 4 years of experience with Java and a strong background in computer science. They will also possess the ability to translate feature requirements into technical specifications and mentor junior team members to improve overall performance. Familiarity with Java frameworks and tools, such as Spring, Gradle, and JUnit, is required, as well as experience working with distributed services at scale and observability and monitoring tools like DataDog. The ideal candidate will also have excellent communication skills and be comfortable working remotely with a distributed team.
Key Responsibilities:
– Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement solutions for our users
– Lead projects from conception to delivery, ensuring all requirements are met
– Proficiently code in Java and utilize Spring and other tools to improve code stability and quality
– Utilize CI/CD processes to enhance code stability and quality
– Monitor and maintain services in distributed environments to ensure high availability
– Write secure, scalable, and maintainable code
– Communicate effectively with a remote team
Qualifications:
– Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field
– Minimum of 4 years of experience with Java
– Solid understanding of computer science fundamentals
– Proven experience translating feature requirements into technical specifications
– Experience mentoring and elevating team members
– Familiarity with Java frameworks and tools (Spring, Gradle, JUnit)
– Experience with distributed services at scale and observability and monitoring tools (DataDog)
– Knowledge of REST and mobile API best practices
– Excellent communication skills and ability to work remotely with a distributed team
