Role:
As a Growth Engineer at Whatnot, you will play a crucial role in expanding our new user funnel by attracting both buyers and sellers to accelerate our marketplace’s growth. You will focus on the full funnel, developing strategies to increase traffic across multiple channels and creating engaging user experiences to retain long-term buyers and sellers.
Key Responsibilities:
– Develop our core incentivized buyer growth strategy, including gamified incentives and offer experiences, to drive rapid growth.
– Lead a team of engineers to design and implement our incentive management system from the ground up.
– Take ownership of high-impact features and prioritize them for quick implementation.
– Conduct research to identify new opportunities for product improvement.
– Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
– Demonstrate excellent product instincts, prioritizing user needs over technical solutions.
– Operate independently and consistently deliver impactful results.
– Communicate effectively in both written and verbal English.
Requirements:
– 5+ years of software development experience.
– Experience building e-commerce products.
– Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience.
– Proficiency in Python, Elixir, and JavaScript.
– Proven track record of leading engineers to deliver significant business impact.
– Ability to ship products and features quickly and efficiently.
– Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
– Self-motivated and focused on results.
– Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
