Job Description:
As the Web Developer and Designer, you will work directly with the CEO and CLO to ensure our company website accurately reflects our business and values. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining the website, as well as creating graphics for various media. This dynamic role will also involve working closely with our team of geologists and data scientists to communicate technical information to a broad audience and contributing to our branding language and storytelling.
Responsibilities:
– Design, develop, and maintain the company website, ensuring timely updates, new content, and bug fixes
– Collaborate with the executive team to design website concepts and features
– Create page mockups using Figma or Adobe Illustrator
– Build web pages using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP within a CMS (e.g., WordPress, Shopify, HubSpot, or Ghost)
– Manage and organize web content
– Translate technical information into easily understandable language for a broad audience
– Help define and grow the company’s branding language and message
– Continuously learn and adapt to the company’s evolving needs
Qualifications:
– At least 5 years of experience in web design and development, including using a CMS
– Proficiency in general graphic design principles and user interfaces
– High proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP
– Experience with Figma or Adobe Illustrator for page mockups
– Comfortable working with frequent project pivots in a self-starting, autonomous culture
– Strong communication skills and ability to translate technical information for a broad audience
– Experience with user experience research (UX) or spatial data (maps) is a plus
Location:
This is a full-time, remote position. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States or Canada.
Salary:
The US base salary range for this position is $80,000 – $125,000, commensurate with experience.
