Responsibilities:
As a Data Scientist at The Browser Company, you will play a crucial role in providing insights to our teams, allowing us to improve and develop the next generation of browsers. You will work with a multidisciplinary team, utilizing your skills in data science, software engineering, product, and growth to shape the future of browsing. Some key responsibilities include:
– Collaborating with Product and Marketing teams to measure, analyze, and optimize the user funnel, driving engagement and growth
– Partnering with Engineering and Design teams to implement new features and updates, ensuring we capture the necessary data for rapid iteration
– Championing data across the company by finding creative ways to answer critical questions and accelerate learning
– Defining strategic metrics to guide company-wide prioritization and focus on high-value initiatives
– Building and maintaining data infrastructure to support decision-making and easy access for all teams
Requirements:
– 5+ years of experience contributing to high-quality consumer software products as a member of a data team
– Strong knowledge of SQL and proficiency in at least one scripting language (Python, R)
– Familiarity with production codebases and the ability to debug and make adjustments to logging
– Experience working closely with product teams and utilizing data to inform decisions
– Ability to apply advanced statistical methods for in-depth analysis, but also recognize when simple or scrappy data is sufficient
– Familiarity with end-to-end data engineering stacks, with expertise in areas such as logging, pipelines, data models, documentation, dashboards, and internal tools
– A user-focused mindset and a passion for creating meaningful experiences for our members
– Comfortable working in a fast-paced startup environment and willing to test and learn quickly to improve the product and internal processes
– Availability for at least 4 hours of overlap with team members in Eastern Time Zone
