About you and the role

As a Senior Business Analyst at PartnerStack, you are a resourceful and independent thinker with strong communication and technical skills. You have a passion for data and are skilled at creating actionable insights. Your ability to tell stories through numbers and identify opportunities for process improvement sets you apart. You are continuously developing your skills and are eager to explore new concepts and technologies.

The mission of our Business Analysts team is to drive strategic decision-making and business growth at PartnerStack through insightful financial analysis and robust planning. In this role, you will play a critical part in translating complex financial data into actionable insights, supporting business planning, forecasting, and performance management. By collaborating with teams across the organization, you will help ensure financial accountability, enhance operational efficiency, and align resources with strategic priorities.

What you’ll do

PartnerStack is seeking a Sr. Business Analyst with strong experience in SaaS to drive budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis. This role will focus on creating forward-looking financial models, conducting in-depth analysis, and reporting on monthly revenue, operating expenses, and key performance indicators (KPIs).

As the Sr. Business Analyst, you will provide essential financial insights that drive operational efficiencies and help department leaders maximize their investments’ impact on top-line growth. Reporting directly to the CFO, you will work cross-departmentally with executive leaders to support strategic decision-making and provide financial visibility across the organization.

The successful Senior Business Analyst will:

– Assist the organization with budget management, forecasting, data-driven analysis, and headcount planning.
– Improve financial visibility, control, and planning effectiveness by implementing scalable processes in collaboration with accounting and business teams.
– Work closely with Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, Operations, and Product teams to provide financial insights and support strategic initiatives. You will facilitate alignment on revenue goals, resource allocation, and strategies to maximize ROI and drive sustainable growth.
– Lead the Finance section of the quarterly Board package and manage streamlined monthly and quarterly reporting for the Executive team, Board, and investors. You will provide key insights into financial performance to inform strategic decisions and enhance transparency.
– Develop and spearhead a process that supports dynamic modeling of our revenue and departmental operating budget, driving accountability into the business and providing a reliable base for budgeting and cash forecasting.
– Establish and monitor key financial performance indicators, aligning them with company OKRs and communicating progress to stakeholders.
– Support various finance and operations initiatives, partnering with teams on high-priority strategic projects to deliver meaningful and measurable value across the company.

You’re a great candidate if you have…

– 2-4 years of demonstrated success in roles such as investment banking, management consulting, accounting, startups, or other strategy/operations positions.
– Working experience with SaaS startups (experience with capital raising is a plus). You have a strong understanding of SaaS business models, sales motions, and key financial metrics, with the ability to identify and support growth opportunities.
– Proficiency in core accounting concepts, Excel/Google Sheets, and SQL. You also have experience using data visualization tools (e.g., BigQuery, Looker, Metabase) to turn data into actionable insights.
– Skills in financial modeling and hands-on experience building budgets, projections, and forecasts from scratch in a high-growth environment.
– Curiosity to extract a story from the numbers and prove or disprove business strategies and tactics using financial analysis.
– The ability to thrive in a fast-paced and ambiguous environment. You are proactive, prioritize key tasks, and can adapt when necessary.
– Strong communication skills to effectively convey complex ideas in a simple and easy-to-understand manner for any audience.
– An ownership mentality with a clear bias for action. You can work collaboratively and autonomously, taking ownership and accountability for your work.
