Job Description:
We are seeking a talented Game Designer to join our team at CryptoKitties. In this role, you will contribute to the development of the next wave of engaging and delightful games for one of blockchain gaming’s most iconic brands. CryptoKitties has revolutionized the digital collectibles space, and we are now focused on creating innovative gameplay experiences to delight and expand our vibrant and dedicated community.
Key Responsibilities:
– Collaborate with a team of creatives and developers to conceptualize, prototype, and refine gameplay systems that are both fun and accessible while working within the unique constraints of an open blockchain-based economy.
– Develop engaging gameplay systems tailored to the CryptoKitties brand, balancing in-game and token-based economies to ensure sustainable player engagement and growth.
– Create game concepts, user flows, and documentation that effectively communicate ideas to the development team.
– Work with artists, engineers, and product managers to bring ideas to life.
– Ensure a balance of fun and challenge in game features, resulting in high player engagement and retention.
– Facilitate playtests and analyze player behavior to identify areas for improvement in both gameplay and the in-game economy, iterating on designs based on insights.
– Explore innovative ways to integrate blockchain technology into gameplay.
– Assist in developing live events and feature updates that keep players excited and engaged.
Qualifications:
– At least 3 years of experience in game design, preferably with casual or mobile games.
– Strong understanding of core gameplay mechanics and system design.
– Passion for creating fun and engaging player experiences.
– Knowledge of blockchain technology or a strong curiosity to learn about its potential in gaming.
– Proficiency in tools like Figma, Miro, or other design and documentation tools.
– Collaborative mindset, able to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
– A love for CryptoKitties and a strong interest in shaping its future.
