Job Title: Staff Software Engineer, ML Platform

Position Overview:
As a member of the ML Training and DevEx team, your role will be to provide a reliable, scalable, and user-friendly training framework for modeling needs within Stack AV. You will also be responsible for enhancing the overall developer experience for ML engineers, including developing tools for testing, validation, and understanding of models and data used for training. Additionally, you will play a crucial role in model optimization and deployment.
Key Responsibilities:
– Utilize experience in both ML Platforms and building ML-based applications (bonus points for modeling experience)
– Build scalable and reliable infrastructure in a fast-paced environment
– Collaborate with cross-functional teams
– Work with or build ML infrastructure for a large number of customer teams
– Demonstrate strong understanding of design tradeoffs and effectively communicate them to others
– Experience with building ML models or infrastructure in the areas of autonomous vehicles, perception, and decision making (desirable but not required)
– Experience with model training, optimization, or processing large data pipelines
Preferred Qualifications:
– Knowledge of pushing GPUs to their limits, from Python to CUDA kernel level
– Experience in building inference or training loops for large models (preferably with LLM flavor)
– Successfully shipped ML products at scale, such as NLP, computer vision, or recommender systems
– Familiarity with building low latency/high throughput batch or stream processing pipelines
– Proficiency in writing high-performance, readable C++
– Previous experience in the AV industry
