Analytics Engineer II/III at Branch

We are currently looking for an Analytics Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will report to the Director of Analytic Engineering or Head of the Data Office and support a variety of projects across the organization. Our team is responsible for managing and democratizing data through self-service tools, allowing for exploration, innovation, and discovery of insights. As an Analytics Engineer, you will offer strategic recommendations and technical expertise to architect solutions and address challenges as they arise.
We are actively seeking candidates located in OH, but are open to qualified applicants from various states including AL, AZ, CT, FL, GA, ID, IL, IN, IA, KS, KY, LA, MD, MA, MI, MN, MS, MO, NE, NV, NJ, NC, ND, OK, PA, SC, SD, TN, TX, UT, VA, and WI. At Branch, we are remote-first, with the option to work from home. Our headquarters are located in Columbus, Ohio, and we gather in person once a year for our “BranchFest” event.
Key Responsibilities:
– Build and maintain data models, dictionaries, and self-service tools
– Ensure data quality is proactively monitored and issues are promptly addressed
– Collaborate with leaders to implement and document processes and best practices
– Troubleshoot and fix issues within existing data pipelines
– Make recommendations for ongoing optimization and improvement
Skills, Knowledge, and Expertise:
– 7+ years of experience in data/reporting development
– Proficiency in SQL and experience with dbt
– Experience with Python, JavaScript, or other programming languages
– Knowledge of insurance data and business domain is a plus
Data Engineer III
Key Responsibilities:
– Provide hands-on technical expertise, leadership, and support
– Build views/tables, data models, data dictionaries, and self-service tools
– Ensure data quality is proactively monitored and issues are promptly addressed
– Collaborate with leaders to implement, refine, and document processes and best practices
– Learn and understand data development at Branch
Skills, Knowledge, and Expertise:
– 3+ years of experience in data/reporting development
– Proficiency in SQL and experience with dbt
– Experience with Python, JavaScript, or other programming languages
– Knowledge of insurance data and business domain is a plus
