Position: Senior Platform Engineer II – Data Engineering at Nomad Health

Job Description:
As a Senior Platform Engineer II at Nomad Health, you will have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge technology and play a vital role in modernizing healthcare staffing. Your main focus will be on building and maintaining scalable and reliable machine learning systems, working closely with development teams to ensure high-performance and scalability. This position also involves managing infrastructure, optimizing code, and promoting automation through continuous integration and delivery. As a member of our fast-growing team, you will have the chance to make a significant impact on the healthcare industry and use your analytical and technical skills to drive success.
Key Responsibilities:
– Design, develop, and maintain a scalable AI platform, implementing and improving Service Level Objectives (SLOs) and Service Level Indicators (SLIs) to ensure optimal performance
– Collaborate with a dynamic team to build web services, APIs, and integrations, enhancing our platform and improving its speed
– Work closely with Product and Engineering partners to design and manage systems, plan capacity, and continuously improve all systems
– Collaborate with Development teams to establish best practices, set up infrastructure, and plan activities with a focus on stability, performance, and scalability
– Write clean and extensible code, improve architecture and frameworks, and maintain a robust technology stack
– Mentor engineering teams and promote reliability best practices
– Maintain and enhance our CI/CD/CT pipelines
– Participate in 24/7 on-call rotations, incident response, and postmortems
Requirements:
– Proficiency in Python, Node/Javascript, or similar programming languages
– Experience with cloud services such as GCP, AWS, and CDNs
– Knowledge of Kubernetes and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or Pulumi
– Experience with CI/CD platforms such as CircleCI, ArgoCD, and Github Actions
– Familiarity with Data Engineering and related pipelines
– Experience managing SQL, NoSQL, and other data stores
– Understanding of machine learning architecture and data pipelines
– Experience with Service Level Objectives (SLOs)
– Previous experience with incident response and postmortems
Preferred:
– Knowledge of Linux systems and shell scripts
– Familiarity with frameworks like Flask, FastAPI, Django, Celery, React, Next, or others
– Experience with Airflow or other workflow orchestration platforms
– Experience in cloud networking management
– Knowledge of SLO workshops and reviews
– Previous experience managing cloud-native systems and familiarity with GitOps and MLOps practices
– Understanding of the Cloud Native Computing Foundation (CNCF) and the current landscape
– Experience with serverless platforms such as Cloud Functions, Cloud Run, AWS Lambda, or others

Compensation:
The salary for this full-time position is between $164,500 to $222,500. This range reflects the minimum and maximum amount employees can earn during their time in the role.
