About the Role:
As a Staff Product Designer at Super.com, you will work with various teams to develop and maintain a comprehensive design system for our products across web and mobile applications. Your designs will unlock potential and increase efficiency for all product teams through the use of our design system. You will establish quality standards, guidelines, documentation, and governance to ensure the quality of our products. This role requires strategic thinking and the ability to use scalable design system elements to bring cohesion to our digital products.
Key Responsibilities:
– As the Principal Product Designer, you will lead the evolution of our design system across Super.com
– You will maintain components, component library, patterns, and guidelines for both web and mobile applications, and promote its adoption across the organization
– You will identify and implement process efficiencies and improvements in collaboration with cross-functional teams
– You will work closely with product designers, brand designers, and engineers to improve the customer experience and streamline the design process
– You will collaborate effectively through documentation, office hours, and pairing with fellow designers and engineers
– You will continuously advocate for the importance and value of a cohesive design system within the organization
– You will stay updated on industry trends and incorporate best practices into our design system
– You will use data and conduct research to gather feedback and improve the design system and our products
– You will work with other designers and engineers to ensure consistent application of the design system across all products, aligned with business goals
– You will mentor and coach our product design team to elevate the quality of design standards across Super.com products
– You will help develop team processes and find opportunities to improve our design practices
Qualifications:
– 6+ years of product design experience, including working with engineering teams to take ideas from conception to execution across web and mobile applications
– 2+ years of experience in building and maintaining design systems
– Experience working on consumer products in a startup environment
– Strong product design skills with a focus on visual design and user experience
– Technical understanding of designing for different breakpoints and devices
– Experience using user research and data to inform design decisions
– Proficiency with Figma and other design and documentation tools
– Experience mentoring and coaching other designers
– Excellent communication and collaboration skills
– Bonus points for: strong visual design skills, experience creating icons and animations, prototyping skills, and staying updated on industry trends
