Who You Are:
We are seeking a senior software engineer with a strong technical background and a passion for using their skills to make a positive impact on people’s lives. At Brightwheel, engineers collaborate closely with product and design teams, as well as other areas of the business, to deliver a platform that meets the needs of our teachers and parents.
Our engineers have a high level of autonomy and ownership. We are a lean and fast-moving team, and we value individuals who can make a significant impact while considering both technical and business aspects.
What You’ll Do:
As a senior software engineer, you will work with product and other engineers to implement new features, improve software design, optimize user interfaces, and reduce technical debt on our platform’s operational side. You will operate in an agile environment to quickly deliver value to our go-to-market teams and gain a deeper understanding of our customers’ needs to provide software solutions that meet those needs. Quality, scalability, security, and performance are essential to us, and you will be responsible for maintaining these standards. You will also collaborate with other engineers to ensure we have a solid foundation that meets our internal customers’ needs and allows the team to continue building a great product. You may also be involved in designing new software systems or introducing new technologies to support Brightwheel’s growth. Sharing knowledge and expertise with the engineering team is also a crucial aspect of this role.
Qualifications, Skills, & Abilities:
– Must be located in Latin America
– Minimum of 5 years of professional software engineering experience in agile companies/teams
– Experience with backend frameworks such as Ruby on Rails, Python/Django, or Golang
– Proficiency in designing and optimizing APIs
– Familiarity with frontend frameworks like React or Angular
– Experience in writing automated tests, including unit, integration, and end-to-end testing
