Job Description:

We are seeking a Senior Business Analyst to join our team at McFadyen Digital. This individual will play a key role in understanding client requirements and issues, partnering with architects and technical leads to innovate solutions, and creating documentation and other artifacts to turn strategy into reality. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker, an expert in business process optimization, and has a passion for ecommerce. If you have experience creating features and epics and breaking them down into user stories, we want to hear from you!

This position is 100% remote.

Responsibilities:

The top 5 responsibilities for this role are:

1. Gathering, analyzing, and documenting eCommerce requirements for large-scale projects and managing the requirements scope for Fortune 500 or equivalent clients.
2. Independently handling ambiguous situations and developing practical plans to achieve clarity, while defining functional behavior, business rules, and data attributes.
3. Working with business stakeholders or sponsors to translate business needs into business and functional requirements, fix functional gaps, and add detail.
4. Eliciting requirements using various methods such as interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, and more.
5. Acting as a product owner for the development and QA team, clarifying doubts, validating solutions, and providing demos to clients.

Other responsibilities include:

– Presenting solution alternatives to clients that meet their business requirements.
– Working in a globally distributed team model.
– Decomposing high-level business and user requirements into functional requirements or user stories.
– Representing requirements using alternative views, such as visual analysis models or prototypes.
– Leading requirements validation activities to ensure solutions meet customer needs and business objectives.
– Prioritizing requirements and continuously improving requirements practices.
– Assisting with the development of organization-wide requirements engineering policies, procedures, and tools.
– Identifying ways to assist product management in product planning through requirements development and analysis.
– Proposing new product features and updates.
– Conducting research, analysis, and feasibility studies to determine the viability of requirements.
– Traveling to client sites as needed (post-pandemic).
– Sharing best practices and supporting other eCommerce teams with business knowledge and processes.

Qualifications:

The top 5 qualifications for this role are:

1. Experience in IT or eBusiness, including experience with eCommerce, web application development, or other eBusiness solutions.
2. Strong facilitation and communication skills across business and technical audiences.
3. Familiarity with a broad array of internet technologies and trends.
4. Understanding of eCommerce internationalization and localization complexities.
5. Experience in problem resolution with IT systems and individuals.

Other qualifications include:

– Bachelor’s degree in business, MIS, Computer Science, or related major.
– Proven experience as a Business Analyst.
– Experience with an enterprise class eCommerce platform.
– Familiarity with Agile development processes and Jira.
– Knowledge of multiple vertical industries such as retail, b2b, CPG, and grocery is a plus.
– Excellent English communication skills.
