Senior Software Engineer – Nava Public Benefit Corporation

Nava Public Benefit Corporation is seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will work closely with our government partners and other contractors to design, implement, and deploy new systems and improvements to existing systems. You will also collaborate with our product team and government stakeholders to ensure that our solutions meet user needs. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will play a crucial role in improving the overall engineering quality of our company by providing technical guidance and mentoring to other team members.

Key Responsibilities:

– Work with fellow engineers to design, review, and build high-quality software
– Collaborate with government partners and other contractors to architect, implement, and deploy new systems and improvements to existing systems
– Utilize agile methodologies to efficiently deliver new features that meet user needs
– Develop tools and processes to automate our development, testing, and production workflows
– Write and review technical documentation and perform code reviews
– Participate in an on-call rotation to support production systems and investigate issues
– Assist in hiring activities, such as submitting referrals, conducting interviews, and attending interview debriefs
– Contribute to the overall vision for our Salesforce updating and integration efforts
– Implement the merge of two similar Salesforce organizations
– Integrate with external data sources and consolidate and improve data models
– Analyze existing code and determine necessary updates or changes
– Take part in developing and consolidating business processes

Required Skills:

– At least 5 years of experience working in an agile, multidisciplinary team environment, preferably designing and building medium to large-scale Salesforce applications
– Knowledge of AWS and SQL databases is a plus
– Understanding of user interface design best practices
– Ability to integrate Salesforce into enterprise-level cloud applications
– Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to iterate on solutions
– Ability to think strategically and make trade-offs for long-term benefits
– Highly resourceful, reliable, and detail-oriented
– Adaptive, empathetic, collaborative, and positive mindset
– Excellent written and verbal communication skills, both technical and non-technical

Qualifications:

– Senior-level experience as a Salesforce Engineer, working with an Architect and junior developers to implement modernization strategies
– Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
– May be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information
– Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field preferred

Location:

This role is open to candidates who can work from one of Nava’s offices in NYC, DC, or San Francisco in a hybrid work arrangement. Fully remote options are also available for those residing in select states. Please note that applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States and meet any other requirements for government contracts.
