Position: Backup Engineer

Umpisa Inc., a progressive technology services company, is seeking a motivated and skilled Backup Engineer to join our team. As a Backup Engineer, you will be responsible for managing the global storage footprint and supporting multiple storage and backup technologies. This includes data backup, storage, availability, and storage lifecycle management for all data within the organization. You will be part of a self-organizing Scrum team in a scaled agile framework, collaborating with team members and clients to deliver world-class and impactful products and solutions.

Responsibilities:
– Configure, implement, and support data backup solutions
– Troubleshoot and resolve backup failures and issues
– Perform audits to ensure backup SLAs are met
– Collaborate with internal customers to determine backup needs
– Write and maintain documentation and automate tasks
– Continuously improve processes and technology to provide better solutions for the organization
Requirements:
– Trustworthy, self-motivated, and responsive
– Excellent attention to detail
– Strong communication and organizational skills
– 3+ years of hands-on experience with Avamar, Data Domain, and Rubrik
– Good understanding of DNS and data archiving concepts
– Familiarity with storage industry certifications is a plus
