Kōrero mō te tūranga | About the Role

As a Senior Business Analyst reporting to the End to End Change Manager, you will play a crucial role in Contact’s Retail business era of growth. Our focus is on innovation, customer experiences, and brand development, while also enhancing our capabilities in data and operational performance to deliver “Simple, Personalised Experiences – powered by Energy”.

To achieve our ambitious goals, we are fostering a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration by implementing an Agile Value Stream operating model for all teams involved in selling products and services to our customers.

Your primary responsibility will be to act as a liaison between initiative owners, business stakeholders, and delivery teams. You will also provide support and mentorship to other analysts, ensuring that the initiative owner’s vision is translated into meaningful requirements for delivery and that priority initiatives are successfully completed and operationalized.

Some of the ways you will achieve this include:

– Evaluating, analyzing, and documenting requirements and translating them into proper business and system specifications and service journeys
– Facilitating brainstorming and design thinking sessions with stakeholders for requirement elicitation
– Participating in quality assurance activities, reviews, audits, and data collection to ensure successful implementation of business change
– Designing and implementing change management interventions to realize business benefits
– Understanding Retail’s business processes
– Effectively facilitating and presenting at a senior level
– Inspiring others through your behaviors and leveraging best practices and thought leadership in your daily work
– Showing genuine concern for our people and customer experiences, not just the technical aspects of projects

Qualifications:

Ko wai koe | About You

Given the critical role you will play in Contact’s growth, we are looking for someone with the following qualifications:

– At least 5 years of experience in creating, socializing, and gaining approval for functional, non-functional, and operational requirements in the retail, self-service, and enterprise integration domains
– Deep knowledge of project delivery lifecycles, including experience with Agile methodologies
– Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders
– Strong understanding of software development practices and experience working within a technology ecosystem
– Knowledge of change management practices and their application
– Understanding of integration patterns and data analysis best practices

– Analytical, with the ability to translate data into actionable insights
– Possessing excellent business acumen, preferably in the retail or utilities industry
– Able to work on multiple initiatives simultaneously
– A clear and effective communicator, especially with solution designers and development teams
– Knowledgeable in business analysis techniques and tools, such as process mapping, documenting requirements, and data analysis

Additional Information:

Our preference is to have candidates located near our Wellington or Auckland offices. However, we are open to candidates willing to relocate to these cities to better understand our business and establish key relationships.
